Short Tutorial - How to Install Java (JDK) on Kali Linux

System Requirements to install JDK

Download
No need for the binary for installation on Kali Linux. However, you can download the binary after registration at the Oracle portal.

Installation
Step 1 - Update Kali
$ sudo apt update
Step 2 - Install default JDK on Kali
$ sudo apt install default-jdk
Step 3 - Check the installation
Just shoot the below command for checking the proper installation.
$ java --
version
If need to install a different version of Java instead of the default version, use the below commands:
$ sudo update-alternatives--
config java $ sudo update-alternatives--
config javac
