FoxyProxy - Must Use Extension by Hackers

If you are involved in web security assessment, the best way is to analyze the HTTP traffic of the website via proxy. Burpsuite is a popular tool for proxying network traffic among the cybersecurity community. To intercept the network traffic, switching proxy by using burp is irritating. You can use foxyproxy addon extension to solve this problem.

Installation (Firefox)

You can easily install foxyproxy plugin in the browser by using the following steps:

Step 1:

For Firefox, visit URL to download and install the plugin on the browser.

You can also search foxyproxy by choosing Add-ons and themes. Then search "foxyproxy" in the search box.

Step 2:

Just click on Add to Firefox. Click on Add button for installation.

This completes the setup of foxyproxy tool. A small icon is displayed.

How to setup foxyproxy to intercept traffic

Click on Options. Foxyproxy Options screen is displayed.

Add Proxy IP address as "127.0.0.1" and Port "8080". Make sure Burpsuite also uses the same IP addresses for proxy.

Now, just click on the icon and select your proxy for switching on and off. Here, you can select "Test" as we have created this configuration.

I am assuming that you have already installed Burpsuite on your desktop. If not installed, please install the community edition (free version).

Launch the Burpsuite and now you are able to switch proxy settings to on and off.
